I’m pleased to announce that the final votes have been certified, and I can now confidently share that I will be your next Mayor of Erie. Thank you for your support and trust in this opportunity you have given me.
I want to thank Mayor Brooks for his service and look forward to working with him on a smooth transition.
It is essential that we now come together as a single community to make the best decisions for the long-term good of Erie. I’ve reached out to the incumbents, Councilors Baer, Bell, and Hoback, to congratulate them and start getting to know each other.
I have also reached out to new council members, John Mortellaro, Brian O’Connor, and Anil Pesaramelli, whom I look forward to learning from and working with to move Erie forward.
I want to thank outgoing council members Sawasch and Loflin for their service. I look forward to honoring them along with Mayor Brooks in January.
This election is a new start for Erie. I am a fiscal conservative, and this tends to inform my decision-making. If we have the money and it is sustainable, I tend to be supportive, especially around building community. My initial focus will be on fiscal issues, traffic concerns, housing diversity, and growth densities.
It is important to me that I listen to and consider the questions and input from our community. I will be available via email, text, and phone, and just as I did in my first three terms as Mayor, I will engage in a timely manner. Watch for more details after we are sworn in on January 14 at 6:30 pm.
