As the Mayor of Erie, I championed the first Open Space and Trails funding for Erie, which launched our spine trail. This trail now connects us throughout Erie and to the region via the Coal Creek Trail.
The Boulder to Erie Regional Trail (BERT) is the next big project to transform the abandoned rail line from Erie to Boulder into a trail system. The BERT Plan identifies a preferred alignment for an 8.5-mile east-west multi-use trail connection between the City of Boulder and the Town of Erie.
I will advocate for this major trail project to give Erie and Boulder a direct link to each other.
The next opportunity for all of us is at the Board of County Commissioners Public Hearing on BERT on Thursday, October 24, at 9 a.m. View information on how to attend or participate virtually.
Erie needs leadership that will proactively engage on this and other issues.
I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this important issue.
Best,
Andrew Moore
